We are so excited to work with local scouting and guiding groups again this year to encourage the younger generation to engage with nature and contribute to nurturing the future.

We were delighted to have been awarded a Highly Commended accolade for Small Charity of the Year at the Third Sector Awards.

It was a wonderful surprise to see Vhari reach the shortlist for BBC Radio Cambridgeshire Make A Diffrence Award. She was totally taken aback, and lost for words, which many of you will know is a rare thing!

We were delighted as a team to have won a Silver award for the charity in the Cambridgeshire SME Awards for Community Business of the year.

Founder, Vhari Russell was delighted to have picked up the Rural Volunteer Award organised by Hunts Forum.

Tree care for us, it is really important to look after the trees we planted, to ensure the best success rate possible. So we organised a mulching party at Huntingdon Racecourse where we check on the trees and give them a good layer of mulch, we then did some essential wedding, taking out any that had not made it, luckily there were very few that had not made it.

We named the wood the week that Ollie would have turned 18, life sometime takes the ones we love to soon, so its really special that we could name this wood in memory of Ollie and his family can enjoy working around the wood for years to come. 

We have planted a whopping 21, 172 trees and hedging plants with 682 volunteers in just five months! We have smashed our target of 10,000 a year and have hit over 31,000 in just three years.

The charity has always been about giving back and creating a legacy in Rory’s memory. It was really important that we plant trees with Rorys children so it was wonderful to be able to plant at Roch village school with Rory’s two children. 

A huge thank you to the Buckden Scouts, Cubs, and Beavers along with their leaders and parents who helped to plant 1,500 trees and hedging plants.

It was great to have teamed up with so many different people, places and groups of the community with this year's Plantober. 

We are very grateful for the team at Notcutts in Brampton who have kindly given us two gifts of spades as they really make the work easier

Plantober is a nationwide initiative to encourage everyone to collect seeds from the trees around them, plant them in pots, and then transfer them to a garden to grow and prosper.
