A new Orchard and outdoor classroom with Anya Gallete and The Turner Contemporary
Back in the spring we received one of those pinch me emails from the team at the Turner contemporary asking if we were interested in being part of a new exhibition and project around the apple. We then worked with Anya Gallaccio, the Turner team and the amazing Donna at Grow Fruit Trees, to pick the trees for Anya’s design.
It was a huge privilege to attend the opening of the Anya Gallaccio art exhibition at the Turner Contemporary in Margate, Kent. We are so excited to be working with Anya on the creation of a new orchard and outdoor classroom on the Lees Court Estate at the end of November. Anya new exhibition is a must visit as it will evolve as her installations decays. All the apple seeds from the apple curtain will be collected and scattered around the new orchard, leaving a lasting legacy from the exhibition.
The Turner Contempoary have also created a great apple based learning resource that you can download from their website. https://turnercontemporary.org/an-apple-a-day/
We will share more news of the planting once it has happened.
