Rory’s anniversary planting
We were thrilled to have been able to plant five trees on the weekend which marked the anniversary of Rory’s death. It was comforting for the family to plant trees in the local community garden in which Rory’s own children play.
We secured a range of fruit trees, one of which tickled me as it was an apple variety named Scrumptious which I am sure Rory would have loved. The occasion was made more special as on the second anniversary of his passing, we gave out acorns to friends and family and asked them to plant them in his memory. Another friend kindly brought with them an oak sapling that they had grown for us which is now planted in Pembrokeshire and growing strong.
You never really get over the grief of losing someone but planting a tree feels a positive way in which to mark key milestones and occasions.
We will be sure to share the growing updates with you across our social media platforms.
